Israeli president says Ahmadinejad, Chavez will fall

18:00GMT—1:00PM/EST

Washington, 18 November (WashingtonTV)—Israeli President Shimon Peres said on Tuesday that he believes the presidents of Iran and Venezuela would soon fall.

“They won’t hold, not because any of us is going to kill them; their own people are getting tired of them,” Peres said at a forum in Buenos Aires, Argentina, according to the Associated Press.

Peres accused Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez of wasting their oil reserves in a bid to buy prestige.

“Oil makes them think a bit complicated,” he said, twirling his hand near his head, as if to suggest that both leaders are crazy.

Peres is touring Latin America in an effort to counter Iran’s growing influence in the region. Earlier this week, he urged Brazil to use its growing voice on the international stage to challenge Iran’s threats against Israel.

Ahmadinejad is expected to visit Brazil and Venezuela later this month.
