Washington, 11 November (WashingtonTV)—The Israeli military on Wednesday released documents and photos which it says proves that a massive arms shipment seized at sea last week came from Iran.
Israel says the Antigua-flagged cargo ship was carrying 500 tons of Iranian-made weapons to Hezbollah militants in Lebanon, via Syria.
Iran, Syria and Hezbollah have all denied the Israeli accusations.
On Wednesday, the military released what it said was a manifest stating that the cargo originated in Esfahan, Iran, reports the Associated Press.
Photos released showed containers bearing the logo of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines and cargo with Iranian armed forces customs labels, according to AFP.
Among the weapons seized were over 2,000 Iranian-made artillery rockets and thousands of fuses manufactured only in Iran, the military said.
Israel formally protested to the United Nations last week over the arms shipment.
The incident was raised by the U.S. and Britain during a UN Security Council meeting yesterday.
