Washington, 9 November (WashingtonTV)—A suicide bomber killed at least three people and wounded five others in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar on Monday.
Police say that the bomber was riding in a rickshaw and detonated his explosives when stopped at a police checkpoint, reports Reuters.
A policeman, a passerby and the rickshaw driver were killed.
The attack came a day after at least 12 people were killed near Peshawar, reports the BBC.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for today’s attack.
Islamist militants have unleashed a campaign of attacks throughout Pakistan in recent weeks, in retaliation for an army offensive in South Waziristan.
More than 300 people have been killed over the past six weeks, according to the Press Trust of India.
The Pakistani army says that 486 militants have been killed since their offensive began on 17 October, and that 48 soldiers have died, reports Reuters.
