Customers of Wells Fargo are having problems accessing their accounts and the company is admitting it's having issues with its online banking and mobile app.

This was the second outage this month at Wells Fargo. The bank has been fined more than a billion dollars for its customer service failures.

On Thursday, the bank said its ATM services had been restored and its mobile and online systems were working, although not all features were restored.

Though the services are now up and running again for some customers, others have reported they're still experiencing problems.

Some customers tweeted Friday morning that they're still unable to access their money. Some customers reported that cards were being declined as well.

Wells Fargo has dealt with a string of controversies in recent years. 'Thanks for your patience while we research this issue'.

Almost four hours later, the problem had been identified as a "system issue due to a power shutdown at one of our facilities, initiated after smoke was detected following routine maintenance".

Many who saw the post, however, were not satisfied with the bank's response.

Customers can use Wells Fargo credit and debit cards for purchases.

"Unfortunately bank outages have become fairly commonplace - if you haven't experienced one yourself, you might be in the minority", O'Shea said in an email to ConsumerAffairs.
