After the remarkable victory in ODI series, India will look to bag the maiden T20 series as well. Rishabh Pant is back in the side along with allrounder Krunal Pandya.

Rohit Sharma now has a shot at history as he prepares to lead India in Virat Kohli's absence in the upcoming three-match T20I series against the Black Caps.

The 37-year-old, who has the most number of stumping to his name in worldwide cricket with 190, once again showed his antics behind the stumps when he dismissed Jimmy Neesham during New Zealand's chase of 252 runs.

Meanwhile, Kane Williamson's team have headaches of their own with opener Martin Guptill sidelined through an injury that was picked up during the ODI series.

After clinching the five-match One-Day International (ODI) series, a confident India cricket team under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma will aim to carry the momentum to the three match Twenty20 International (T20I) series when they face New Zealand in 1st T20 match at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington on Wednesday.

Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues formed a successful opening partnership in the ODI series and India are expected to continue with the same pair in T20Is. MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik are the other two keeper batsmen in the side. Rishabh Pant will have a chance to prove himself as he is back with the team for the T20 series. Apart from Pant, India are also likely to play both Dhoni and Karthik. He last played a T20 in July. In eight matches between the two sides, India have won only two with a win percentage of 25.

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, India also can't afford to drop pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar which leaves them with only one spot of a fast bowler. "He did a very good job for the NZ A team in both the UAE and at home against India A and we believe another day of global cricket would be very advantageous for him".
