Marks was extradited from Kent County, Michigan on January 31 for a burglary charge in Temple, where he allegedly broke into Jenna Scott's home.

He was arrested by U.S. Marshalls in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on a charge of burglary with the intent to commit another felony, Conroe Police Lt. Dorcy McGinnis said in a press conference Sunday afternoon, according to the New York Daily News.

"We do believe there was still one (guard) in the van or near the van", McGinnis said when asked whether Marks was being supervised.

Scott requested a protective order against Marks last July, accusing him of choking her unconscious twice, Temple television station KCEN reported.

Marks escaped when the private transport stopped for food, KWTX reported.

The transporters chose to stop for food in Conroe, a Houston suburb, and that's when Marks made his escape, Houston CBS affiliate KHOU reported.

Authorities said Marks was "extremely dangerous" and requested anyone who saw him while on the run to immediately call the police emergency number, 911. She also said she had her phone in her hand, and Marks took it from her and threw it.

Marks has been an MMA fighter for more than 19 years, according to an MMA fighter database.

Marks' wife, Ginell McDonough, is facing charges of harboring a fugitive, as she's accused of allowing Marks and Maxwell to stay with her while authorities were looking for them, KCEN-TV said.

TV station KCEN reported that Marks was arrested in MI last month on a charge alleging he broke into the Temple, Texas, home of an ex-girlfriend, Jenna Scott, on August 21.

Maya Maxwell was charged with evidence tampering and jailed in Texas on a $US150,000 ($209,880) bond. According to an arrest affidavit, she told detectives that she drove Swearingin's vehicle to Austin in an attempt to hide it from investigators.

Marks and Pease have a child together and Pease, who is from Washington state, had accused Marks of domestic violence.

"We are in contact with law enforcement and are aware there are developments in another case in Texas", Hartley said. She went missing in March 2009 while living in a women's shelter in Bloomington, and Marks got custody of their son.
