On Thursday, Pittsburgh Steelers president Art Rooney II did not do much to assuage Steelers fans who are hoping for an Antonio Brown return in 2019, as Rooney said that it is now hard to imagine Brown being on next year's roster.

The 30-year-old is signed through 2021 with an average salary of $17 million. Rumors began swirling about a disagreement between the receiver and the team's franchise quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, after Pittsburgh decided to make Brown inactive against the Cincinnati Bengals. "We're not closing the door on anything at this point", Rooney said.

"There's not much we can do right now; we have time to make a decision", Rooney told the Post-Gazette. Brown recently unfollowed his current team on social media and started following the 49ers, several of its players, and liked 49ers-related content, especially content which pushed a Brown-to-San-Francisco message.

The high odds on Atlanta seem a little bit surprising given that the Falcons have Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones as well as two proven weapons with Mohamed Sanu and Calvin Ridley. He only played in 15 games after being forced to sit their must-win season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Steelers now have two months to figure it all out.

Despite his excellent play, oddsmakers don't anticipate Brown being back in Pittsburgh next season. Rooney said that they would not release Brown, but insisted that the $21 million cap hit would not stop them from trading the mercurial star.

Back and forth they go in the Steel City.

"The bottom line is we were playing a significant game and he didn't do a good enough job of communicating of being available in the hours leading up to that performance", Tomlin said at the time.
