A seven-year-old girl died Sunday after a man in a pickup truck sprayed bullets into a auto parked in a Houston-area Walmart.

As of now, the shooter is still at large according to the Harris County Police Department.

The girl, whom police have not yet publicly named, was killed around 7am on Sunday in a auto alongside her mother and three sisters as the vehicle exited the Walmart on Wallisville Road in northeast Houston.

Investigators say the driver of the pickup, described as a man in his 40s, fired into the auto, striking Jazmine and wounding her mother, 30-year-old LaPorsha Washington.

"Please keep this family in your prayers", Gonzalez said in a Facebook post.

30-year-old LaPorsha Washington was trying to move out of the Walmart parking lot with her four children in the auto around 7 a.m. when an unknown assailant in a red truck pulled up and fired shots into Washington's vehicle.

Sheriff's Maj. Jesse Razo released a statement, which read, "We're going to use all resources available to bring this killer to justice".

"Someone who does something like that will eventually talk about it, and we need anyone with information to come forward", said Razo. The vehicle also sped away before it came to a stop and the woman called 911, authorities said.
