Trump's attacks on the media, whether news or entertainment, have at times come with legal threats.

SNL's 2017 episode featured a tree-trimming party at the White House, at which various members of the Trump administration arrived to deliver ornaments for the tree.

Calling it nothing less than "unfair news coverage and Dem commercials", defamatory and belittling, Trump raised questions about the show's legality and threatened to test it in the courts.

This "It's a Wonderful Life" themed sketch on Saturday Night Live imagines a White House without President Donald Trump.

However, despite having previously hosted the show in 2004 and again in 2015, the president failed to see the amusing side of the sketch. But I doubt Trump would be happy about those developments, since they are largely about him inspiring people to oppose him.

"A REAL embarrassment is the uneven inclusion, step by step, of systems like NBC and Democrat turn machines like Saturday Night Live", Trump tweeted on Sunday morning.

The sketch, which aired in black and white to reflect the original film, featured a distraught Trump, played by Alec Baldwin, standing alone on the White House balcony muttering, "It's very bad. I've made so much money working for so many awesome companies, like Facebook, and Ashley Madison, and the Romaine Lettuce Association".

"Everyone looks so different".

"After we lost the campaign, the devil did give me my soul back", Conway (played by Kate McKinnon) says.

In the sketch, Clarence the angel shows Mr Trump - played again by Alec Baldwin - that Melania has divorced him and Robert Mueller never had to launch an investigation into "some idiot for treason". "Collusion?" Trump wrote on Twitter. Michael Pence (Beck Bennett) became a DJ.

Brett Kavanaugh makes an appearance - played by the week's host Matt Damon - to say he's not on the Supreme Court: "Me on the Supreme Court?"
