Meng Wanzhou, the chief financial officer of Huawei Technologies, was arrested December 1 at Vancouver International Airport while en route to Mexico and is being sought for extradition to the USA on allegations of fraud.
Chinese officials said the United States had "seriously violated the legitimate rights and interests of a Chinese citizen in an extremely vile way".
Le called Meng's detention "unreasonable, unconscionable, and vile in nature" and warned of "grave consequences" if she is not released.
China summoned the USA ambassador on Sunday to protest the arrest of a top executive from telecom giant Huawei in Canada, as Washington's top trade negotiator rejected suggestions that the case could affect talks aimed at settling a trade war.
Meng Wanzhou - daughter of Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei - was arrested in Canada on December 1 and faces extradition to the U.S., who allege that she covered up the tech giant's links to a firm that tried to sell equipment to Iran despite sanctions. The hearing continues Monday.
In a statement to several media outlets, Huawei said, "We have every confidence that the Canadian and USA legal systems will reach the right conclusion".
The Huawei chief is accused of misleading multinational banks about Huawei's control of a company operating in Iran.
The reports came after Meng Wanzhou argued that she should be released on bail from her Canadian jail. One man in the courtroom gallery brought binoculars to have a closer look at Meng, her lawyers and the prosecution team. During the meeting, she spoke through an English interpreter and presented PowerPoint slides in Chinese, saying that Huawei operated in Iran in strict compliance with United States sanctions. The judge said he would think about proposed bail conditions over the weekend.
Meng's arrest has threatened to increase U.S. In the UK-another Five Eyes member state, the BT Group telecom giant has said it will also not use Huawei in its 5G network. He described the case against Meng as a "law enforcement issue".
Meng's arrest threatens to add to U.S. She was flying from Hong Kong to Mexico with a stop in the Canadian city.
Ms Meng said in her affidavit that she tries to spend at least two weeks in Vancouver every year. Martin, her lawyer, said she would never breach a court order on bail because that would embarrass her father and China.
China has told Canada there will be "severe consequences" if Huawei's chief financial officer is not released.
The case has hit markets already hammered by months of rising trade tension between the world's two largest economies. Meng is one of China's most prominent businesswomen. She is the daughter of Huawei's founder, Ren Zhengfei.
Chinese media accused America of "abusing" worldwide law because Huawei is out-competing American firms in the technology market. Meng is accused of misrepresenting Huawei's connection with Skycom to several banks involved in the case.
Donald Trump has denied having any knowledge of the arrest, while Canada's Justin Trudeau said he was informed a couple of days ahead of time, but had nothing to do with planning the operation.
She allegedly assured USA banks that Huawei and Skycom were different companies but prosecutors say they were one and the same.
