In the face of a mass of unarmed people, all the Mexican federal police officers I saw positioned themselves with helmets and shields, trying to direct and disperse the crowds, apparently without any unnecessary resort to force.

Speaking on the Democratic Party's response to immigration matters, Wane explained that the so-called liberal side of the aisle needs to step up their game and not simply act on the topic by stating that they're going to fight for beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and for temporary protected status for asylum seekers. Now, critics aren't backing down once again after border agents used tear gas against migrant children attempting to seek asylum.

U.S. border patrol agents used tear gas to force the crowd back and shut the crossing - the busiest on America's southern border - for several hours, though it was back open on Monday.

"They had to use [tear gas] because they were being rushed by some very tough people", he said.

In addition to the arrests, the Mexican government is planning to deport as many as 500 migrants they say attempted to enter the USA violently and illegally. The ministry said that those found to have taken part in the violence would be expelled immediately.

This past weekend, hundreds of migrants attempted to rush the border at the San Ysidro, Calif., port of entry, and Border Patrol agents shot rounds of tear gas after migrants threw rocks and bottles at them.

Most of the migrants stumbled back into camp in the northwestern Mexican city of Tijuana, dirty, scared and with ripped clothes. Many are from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

Lurbin Sarmiento, 26, of Copan, Honduras, said she had been with her 4-year-old daughter at a concrete riverbed, which had a trickle of water from the Tijuana River, when USA agents fired the gas. Sarmiento said she had been near the bottom of the Tijuana River when us agents fired tear gas.

"We can't have all these people here", Mujica told The Associated Press.

She said she never would have gotten that close with her daughter if she thought there would be tear gas.

USA government agencies defended the response to Sunday's incident at the San Ysidro crossing south of San Diego, California.

Irineo Mujica has traveled with the migrants for weeks as a representative of the aid group Pueblo Sin Fronteras. "But you really say, why is a parent running up into an area where they know the tear gas is forming?"

He said that according to CBP's initial report, 69 people were apprehended entering the US.

President Donald Trump on Monday night defended Border Patrol agents' use of tear gas against illegal aliens attempting to cross the border into the United States. He also made new arguments for his promised border wall.

"Mexico should move the flag-waving Migrants, many of whom are stone cold criminals, back to their countries", Trump said in an early morning tweet. U.S. Border Patrol contacted paramedics and took her to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Donald Trump has demanded that Mexico move thousands of migrants, gathered at the United States border, back to their home countries. "Congress, fund the WALL!" Many hope to apply for asylum in the USA, but agents at the San Ysidro entry point are processing fewer than 100 asylum petitions a day. Despite Trump's promise to protect Christians and their values, some suggested the president hasn't done a good job of defending the core Christian value of welcoming the stranger.

Donald Trump has insisted migrants heading towards the USA are "not coming in" as he demanded Mexico be responsible for sending those seeking asylum in America back to their home countries. That was when the first of the two recent large migrant groups entered the country. George Grow was the editor.
