On Sunday, Volusia County Judge Angela Dempsey said the teen will face a first-degree premeditated murder charge in the death of 46-year-old Gail Cleavenger, who was found buried under a nearby church's fire pit. The friends, both juveniles, are also in custody and facing multiple criminal charges. The next morning, the suspect allegedly went to school, returned home, then called 911 to report his mother missing.

After the killing, authorities say the boy called friends to help him make it look like someone had burglarized the home.

Sheriff Mike Chitwood minced no words.

A 15-year-old DeBary boy is being charged with the murder of his mother after Volusia County sheriff's detectives investigating her disappearance today obtained his full and detailed confession.

The boy left to school, and after returning home from school on Friday, he told deputies that his mother had vanished.

Officials with the Sheriff's Office said the 15-year-old called 911 Friday, claiming to have found his home burglarized, his mother nowhere to be found and her vehicle running.

Chitwood named the defendants and showed their mugshots, but Law&Crime is not identifying them because they are minors, and it is unclear if they will be charged as adults.

He later confessed to the murder of his mother and implicated his friends.

Chitwood told the media Ramos, who was a member of a police explorers club in Orange City, came home from a group event at the fairgrounds Thursday and got into a "loud" and "contentious" argument with his mother over his grades, particularly a D he had received in one of his subjects.

The son entered her room about 12:30 a.m. Friday, investigators said.

Volusia County sheriff's detectives are investigating the suspicious disappearance of a DeBary woman who went missing Friday and is considered endangered.

"To watch how cold and callous and calculating he was, I think was probably the most shocking thing for all of us", Chitwood said.

Upon searching the woods, police say, they discovered a shovel Ramos used to bury Cleavenger and a broom he used to clean up his tracks. All our hearts break for this family. "By all accounts she was an unbelievable human being", Chitwood said.
