Chelsea's Alvaro Morata stars with two-goal performance vs. Crystal Palace

Chelsea forward, Eden Hazard is waiting for a signal from Real Madrid before he decides on his future at Stamford Bridge, according to reports. His current demeanour, though, should betray growing belief.

Willian had an effort correctly ruled out for offside three minutes later and Hazard was sent out to warm up early in the second half. The Spaniard controlled the ball beautifully in the penalty area.

Morata opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark and struck again midway through the second half to restore the Blues' lead after Andros Townsend had equalised.

But Palace levelled in the 53rd minute, McArthur sending Townsend clear of David Luiz to rifle a superb strike across Kepa and into the bottom-left corner.

The Belgium worldwide immediately set up Alvaro Morata's second of the afternoon with a fine free kick. Shortly afterward Pedro swept home to make it 3-1 and the game was safe.

Chelsea were troubled by Palace's organisation and speed on the counter-attack for long spells before Morata and Pedro Rodriguez scored to put the game out of reach, but their eighth win of the Premier League season keeps them unbeaten and brings them back to within two points of Manchester City.

The Blues now refocus their attention on the Premier League, and with last weekend's demolition job at Burnley still fresh in the memory, they'll be confident of adding three more points to their tally against a struggling Crystal Palace side. "It is better to play and get experience".

Hazard picked up a knock in Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Manchester United and has missed playing time ever since.

In the opening stages of this game, Roy Hodgson's men were so positive that optimism grew for a genuine contest.

FW Willian, 6 - This was his 11th start in a row and while he generally looks more unsafe cutting in from the left flank, there was a noticeable lack of pop and imagination in his play against Palace's massed defensive ranks. Perhaps Chelsea could even suffer their first defeat of the season to a side that were just positive enough to scare them, but sensible enough to stay solid.

Mourinho actually needs a new striker, as both Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford have not totally convinced this season with only five goals between them in 24 competitive games, but Moses could fit in. His only other options?
