Trump Tweets Controversial Video of Immigrant Cop Killer

  • Michael Bloomberg the billionaire former mayor of New York City has pumped more than $40 million into super PACs in October

An incendiary video tweeted Thursday by President Donald Trump not only shockingly compared members of a migrant caravan heading to the U.S.to an immigrant cop-killer, it also falsely held the Democrats exclusively responsible for his presence in America.

The ad was reminiscent of the infamous "Willie Horton" ad used against Democratic presidential candidate Michael Dukakis in 1988 and condemned as racist.

The man in question is Luis Bracamontes, a twice-deported Mexican immigrant who was given the death penalty earlier this year for slaying two California law enforcement officers back in 2014, according to the Sacramento Bee.

"Illegal immigrant, Luis Bracamontes, killed our people!", the video states, adding, "Democrats let him into our country".

The whole advert centered around William Horton, an African American man who in 1987, raped a white woman and stabbed her white fiancé, after he was released on a weekend furlough from the MA prison where he was serving his life sentence.

The survey was taken almost a week after former President Barack Obama took credit for the economic gains made during Trump's time in office. CBS News is not posting the video here because of the language used.

They doubled-down on their criticisms of the video, saying: "The Trump campaign ad is the latest example of the President's willingness to lie and fear-monger in order to tear at racial and societal divides; to embrace demagoguery to bolster his own political power and the cause of the Republican midterm campaign".

The new video blames Democrats for letting Bracamontes into the US and allowing the undocumented immigrant to stay in the country.

"This is distracting, divisive Donald at his worst", Perez said on CNN. In an interview with CNN, Perez described the ad as "fearmongering".

"Who else would Democrats let in?" the text now asks while flashing back to Bracamontes' evil grin.

It is not the first time that Trump has used Bracamontes in a political ad.

57 percent said they approve of the job Trump is doing on the economy compared to 43 percent who said they disagree.

The video shows a Latino man in court, smiling menacingly.

"This is a sickening ad. Republicans everywhere should denounce it", said Republican Sen.

"The Willie Horton ad gave George Herbert Walker Bush his one big black eye in history", said Brinkley.
