The Israeli army claim they placed an explosive device on a security fence.

In a statement delivered in Egypt, the leader of the terrorist group, Yahiya Sinwar, said his organization expects Israel to transfer the money next Thursday, according to a report by the television channel Hadashot.

"The occupying Israeli army has been deliberately targeting and killing Palestinian children".

[M] ost Gazans say they want direct dialogue with Israelis and would like Israeli companies to provide jobs for them inside that Hamas-ruled territory.

Aisha Abu Daher said her 14-year-old son Abdel-Hamid had "nothing to do with resistance", referring to the militant factions.

The incident occurred after months of protests and clashes along the Gaza border. Entering a restricted area along the border, or even planting explosives there, "doesn't mean someone's life is at imminent threat", he said. The secretary-general "appeals to all to refrain from any act that could lead to further casualties, in particular any measures that could place children in harm's way".

Euro-Med described the continued use of excessive force by Israeli forces against Palestinian protesters at the Israel-Gaza fence as "deeply shocking", adding that in the 200 days of protests, Gaza lost 205 residents. The sit-ins went on through dawn Monday. Several threw rocks and firebombs at the fence near the beach in northwestern Gaza.

For the last two weeks, delegations of Egyptian security officials have engaged in intense shuttle diplomacy between Gaza, the West Bank and Israel, where they have met with Hamas, Fatah and Israeli officials respectively.

A preliminary probe by the Israeli army concluded that Israeli soldiers did not fire directly at the Palestinian medic.

Unnamed Hamas sources cited by Israel's Haaretz and Ynet news outlets saidthat while the weekly "Great March of Return" protests ongoing since March 30 would continue this weekend, an interim agreement had committed the groups to halting violent activity such as the firing of incendiary devices and the burning of tires during the demonstrations. It says it is defending its border and accuses Hamas of exploiting young protesters.
