Mail Bomb Suspect Believed 'Everyone That Wasn't White

  • Suspected MAGA bomber Cesar Sayoc threatened to kidnap a woman using an air boat then kill her in the Florida Everglades it was claimed. Former Congress Press Secretary Rochelle Ritchie shared a chilling Twitter reply

In a news conference on Friday afternoon, Federal Bureau of Investigation director Christopher Wray said a fingerprint on one of the bubble-lined manila envelopes led them to identify Sayoc, who was already in the criminal justice system because of previous arrests in Florida. The company did eventually suspend Sayoc's account, but it wasn't until after he'd been arrested.

After the identity of the suspected mail bomber was revealed last week, The New York Times and The Washington Post linked the incident to President Donald Trump.

Mr Trump's latest tirade came after police charged a staunch supporter over the bombs sent to high-profile figures, including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and Robert De Niro, as well as to CNN.

If put on trial and convicted, he faces up to 48 years in prison in what politicians on both sides of the aisle have condemned as domestic terrorism. The homemade bombs "are not hoax devices", Wray stressed on Friday.

"Yet when a Bernie Sanders supporter tried to murder members of Congress. we did not use that heinous attempt at mass murder for political gain because that would have been wrong", Trump said, in an apparent reference to the shooting at a congressional baseball practice in Virginia a year ago.

Friday night, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents questioned a person at a Broward County residence with a potential connection to Sayoc, but nothing came of the interview, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the probe. His first arrest in the state was at age 29 for larceny.

The stickers on the van included "CNN Sucks" and other pro-Trump and anti-Democrat messages, which tracks some of President Trump's campaign-trail rhetoric.

In a blog post on his website, Moore writes that his crew first encountered Sayoc in Melbourne, Florida, early 2017, where the newly-inaugurated president was already holding his first "Trump 2020 Re-election Rally".

The packages were mailed in manila envelopes with bubble wrap, and had a return address of "DEBBIE WASSERMAN SHULTZ", [sic] referring to the Florida congresswoman and former DNC chair, CNN reported. Cory Booker, the other to former National Intelligence Director James Clapper.

Sayoc also posted virulently anti-Muslim memes and published the address of billionaire investor and Democratic donor George Soros, and photos of the homes of some others who later received bombs.

They said investigators searching for more suspicious parcels had not found any during the previous eight hours.

Although Steyer conceded "There's obviously no direct link" between the attempted bombings in the mail and Trump, he emphasized that "I'm absolutely associating and blaming him for creating the atmosphere that exists".

At a rally on October 27, the president characterized the coverage of the mail bombings as the media's attempt to score "political points" against him and the Republican party ahead of the midterm elections.
