  • Doom Eternal Gameplay Reveal Quake Con PS4 Play Station 4

As the DOOM Slayer, players will return to take theirr vengeance against the forces of Hell.

At the time Bethesda promised that the first gameplay footage would be at Quakecon and, well... guess what starts today. One of them, you'll notice looks a little like Doomslayer himself and the team teased that there's a story behind it, so the lore of Doom appears to be growing ever stronger.

In one month, the DOOM Eternal worldwide gameplay reveal livestream will take place at QuakeCon2018 on August 10 - as per a tweet from the official DOOM account. "Everything you saw, that's pushing the envelope", Stratton explained.

DOOM GUY now has a Super Shotgun - with a meat hook attached - and a new blade on his arm, to make ripping and tearing even more satisfying an experience in the game. It seems like Vulcan API is really letting the devs run wild with the graphical prowess as well as allowing scaling down for less powerful machines.

The footage also introduces enemies, both old and new. There was a claw of some kind that dug into surfaces, but we'll have to wait for more information in the near future. In its huge 15 minute gameplay trailer, id Software showed off Doom Slayer's new attacks and skills including a grappling hook that lets you swing while annihilating demons, as well as a new dash ability that gives players an out when things get dicey. Todd Howard appeared on stage during the Xbox press conference and revealed Fallout 76 is an online multiplayer game that tasks players with rebuilding the Wasteland. The overwhelming success of that effort has only amplified anticipation for the sequel, Doom Eternal.

Bethesda has announced that DOOM Eternal is coming to the Nintendo Switch, with Panic Button - the studio that ported DOOM and Wolfenstein II - handling conversion duties.

So you can look forward to that! You can turn this setting off, though, if you just want to beat up some AI characters.
