In this moment, words are not important.

Looking at the year as a whole, the club has brought in Alexis Sanchez, Brazilian midfielder Fred, promising full-back Diogo Dalot and a veteran goalkeeper, in Lee Grant, that looks set to deputise for David De Gea this season.

"We changed Daley Blind for a 19-year-old kid [Diego Dalot] that we believe has the potential to play right-back or left-back and we changed Michael Carrick for Fred so our squad is the same. I'd prefer to look to the bench and to have them rather than to have 16-year-old boys without experience and without the power to be Premier Leagues players directly", said Mourinho. One lie repeated 1,000 times is still a lie but the perception of people is that it's true.

United had seven players involved in the final weekend of the World Cup with Romelu Lukaku, Marouane Fellaini, Phil Jones, Marcus Rashford, Ashley Young, Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba representing the club and set to return late. Even though we have improved a lot, we need to keep improving. If it's not going well, though, I don't want to hear the moaning and groaning and I am sure the United fans don't want to hear it as well.

The Chile global, 29, said he feels more comfortable at United now following a full preseason with the club and hopes to combine more effectively with teammates Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku this term, beginning with the season-opening match against Leicester City on Friday.

Earlier this week, Pogba told teammates, staff and executives at United that he was "desperate" to leave the club amidst a conflicting relationship with manager Jose Mourinho which has dated back to February, per Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail.

Pushed on whether there would be any ins or outs on Thursday, Mourinho added: "The information I have is no (nothing will happen)". He's in the group of players who didn't have a pre season, it's as simple as that. For nine days he didn't train.so he's to start again.

"He had the first three or four days of training and first couple of matches where he played 40 or 50 minutes".

Pogba, meanwhile, could be on the bench against Leicester despite only training for four days since arriving back in Manchester following his triumph with France in Russian Federation.

"He worked amazingly well Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and he's one of the players that I have to speak to see how physically and mentally he feels".
