Buffalo acquired Corey Coleman from the Browns, the teams announced Sunday.
Coleman, 24, was the 15th overall pick in 2016. Beane spoke Monday morning, less than 12 hours after Buffalo gave up a seventh round-pick in the 2020 draft to acquire the speedy but injury-prone receiver.
He has played in just 19 of a possible 32 games in his career.
The former first-round pick of the Browns was acquired by the Bills for an undisclosed future draft pick.
The Bills have added a wide receiver.
"We all go through things in life that don't go our way all the time". "So I think fresh start is probably the best way I would put it".
He was named in a police report regarding an alleged felonious assault previous year.
Buffalo entered training camp with Kelvin Benjamin as its top receiver and questions down the rest of its depth chart. They also picked up some cold, hard cash. During his first two injury-plagued years in the National Football League, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound wideout has totaled just 56 receptions (131 targets) for 718 yards and five touchdowns in 19 games (18 starts).
"There's nothing guaranteed here", Beane said.
In football lore, he'll be remembered as the guy the Browns ended up with after hand delivering Carson Wentz to the Philadelphia Eagles with the second pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. The combination of Gordon and Landry is expected to be a potent one as long as the quarterback position can produce consistent results with veteran Tyrod Taylor or rookie Baker Mayfield under center during the 2018 campaign.
