Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been leading the social media charge following LeBron James' move to the Los Angeles Lakers.

LeBron James arrived at his decision to leave Cleveland for Los Angeles at some point over the weekend, with the official announcement coming late on Sunday night. James' second go-around with his home-state Cavaliers resulted in four appearances in the NBA Finals and one championship ― a comeback from a 3 games to 1 deficit to defeat the Golden State Warriors in 2016.

"Thank you Northeast Ohio for an incredible four seasons", James wrote.

LeBron James's move to the LA Lakers has got a lot of high-profile stars excited.

Julius Randle could be back with the Lakers on a one-year deal, or if he signs the qualifying offer because there are not other offers out there (it's a very tight market), but the Lakers are not sacrificing their cap space for anyone.

There are those who believe James relishes a challenge. They're now linked like never before and if James wants to prepare for his eventual life after basketball, who better to learn from than Johnson, who has made a fortune as a business entrepreneur, or Bryant, an Academy Award victor.

James chose to become a free agent after his second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers in which he made good on his promise to bring a championship title to what is essentially his home town, having grown up in Akron, Ohio.

That story combined with a climb to the top of the NBA's statistical mountain top - if James averages 25 points and eight assists a game over the next four seasons he'll both smash Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's all-time National Basketball Association scoring record and jump to third all-time in assists behind John Stockton and Jason Kidd - could be James' counterargument in GOAT debates going forward.

The Associated Press reports that this is James' third time in eight years that he has changed teams.

A couple years later, after word broke that he was leaving, he said goodbye on Instagram.

And he also snubbed what could have been the most money and longest deal available, the Cavaliers being able to extend James a five-year contract worth $209 million. In Cleveland, it was a series of one-year deals, and even when they won a championship it was only two years. She announced with her fiancé Phil Jackson, the coach with an entire hand full of Lakers championship rings, that they were breaking off their engagement.

In the dowdy old Eastern Conference, teams like the Raptors can celebrate James' departure. He played in all 82 regular-season games and then somehow carried a team that underwent several transformations to a fourth straight conference title and matchup against the Warriors.

The four-time MVP and 14-time All-Star leaves Cleveland as the leader in just about every statistical category imaginable, including points, rebounds, assists, steals, and games played.
