The biographical raked in Rs 34.75 crore and with this amount, it has beaten the first day total of Aamir Khan's PK (Rs 26.63 crore).

During an interview with India TV, Ranbir also told that Sanju Baba was very happy after watching the flick.

Rachit Gupta of Filmfare said, "Like all of Rajkumar Hirani's films, Sanju is detailed, well-written and has plenty of memorable moments". With the weekend and following days, the revenue of the film is expected to soar higher.

Sanjay Dutt is making headlines all over since his biopic, Sanju has just released, and today he launched the trailer of his upcoming film, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3.

As much for the filmmakers, Sanju is an important film for actor Ranbir Kapoor.

The Rajkumar Hirani film is the sixth highest opening day of all time and the third highest non holiday of all time in terms of net collections. The reviews of the film - both from the critics as well as the audience - have been mixed, but Kapoor's performance has earned appreciation across quarters.

Currently, with no opposition in theatres Sanju is set to enjoy a stellar run at the box office.

Sanju also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in pivotal parts.

The biopic is based on actor Sanjay Dutt and his rapturous life experiences.
