Steven Zuber denies Brazil opening win as Switzerland secure a point

Brazil star Neymar sat out training on Monday following the 1-1 draw with Switzerland in their World Cup opener.

"It's an unfamiliar situation", he said, while insisting the team "has enough experience to not go under with one defeat".

And here's how he reacted on Twitter, in trademark Federer style!

According to Opta, Neymar became the most fouled player in a World Cup game since England's Alan Shearer against Tunisia in 1998, the Selecao striker having been illegally halted by Switzerland 10 times throughout the game.

"We could have been more precise in our finishing".

"The Swiss were more balanced than at the 2014 World Cup, they put some pressure on us and we created chances but were not efficient", he said.

"I feel what they've got up front is fantastic".

After missing a number of late chances to win the game, Brazil were forced to settle for a draw from their opening match of the tournament and Tite was disappointed with their finishing. However, Brazil paid for their failure to kill the game off when Steven Zuber powered home an equaliser from Xherdan Shaqiri's corner five minutes after the break. The second play you can interpret but the first one you can't discuss - the people responsible for that must work within fairness.

"Tomorrow we will recover a bit and then focus on the very hard match coming up against Serbia". We didn't deserve to end with a draw.

Favourites to lift the World Cup in July, Brazil got off to a disappointing start against Switzerland in Rostov-on-Don. In the first half we encountered some difficulties, we were not able to put into practice what we wanted, and we invited the opponent to be unsafe.

"I guess it was a foul", he said.

Tite's side will now face Costa Rica and Serbia to guarantee the top spot in the group, although ironically, after Germany's earlier loss, finishing first might mean playing the defending champions in the second round.
