Roseanne Barr said she begged Ben Sherwood, president of the Disney-ABC Television Group, to let her apologize and save the show along with the jobs of those who worked on it.

On Tuesday, after Roseanne Barr sent out a racist tweet in reference to former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, ABC swiftly pulled the plug on her revived sitcom, Roseanne. In the days since, Barr has tried to backtrack from the tweet by saying it was a joke, making the excuse that she was on Ambien and apologizing for costing the rest of the cast, crew and writers their jobs.

"I'm so sick over this - they will never have better character actors on their network", she said when discussing John and Laurie.

In the meantime, Barr has continued retweeting messages of support from fans, including casting the outrage over her racist language as "purely political". "I forgive her. It just shocked me a bit". On Tuesday afternoon, ABC announced the cancellation of the program.

" Following the tweets, ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said in a statement that the network has chose to cancel show due to Barr's "abhorrent" remarks".

A since-deleted tweet blaming her outburst on a dose of the sleeping pill Ambien, prompted a swift retort from pharma giant Sanofi. "He said: what were you thinking when you did this?"

"I generally believe he thinks black people are unsafe and Mexicans are rapists", Arnold said. "She is a f-king asshole, but so am I. No one ever stood up to her like I did".

Barr, who is Jewish, then went on to suggest that she was the victim, tweeting: "I think I spent the last 24 hours watching the party of inclusion, diversity, understanding, and acceptance, lynch a Jew".

"People of all races, religions and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world", its United States arm said on Twitter. "He believes that. As he perpetuates that fear to America, watch out Mueller is lying, he is after me".

Though no evidence was provided for the claim other than "sources", Barr's supporters ran with the idea and the disgraced actor even re-tweeted the post herself (as well as several other anti-Obama tweets).
