Friday night's Eastern Conference Finals Game 6 between the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers has been pretty lopsided since the first quarter as LeBron James and Co. have been dominating their rival.

James said earlier this year that he didn't intend to play every game of the season, things just worked out that way. "I haven't won every elimination game, but I've had some really good games and I've had some subpar games as well".

I just have no idea if the other Cavs can deliver a passing grade in Boston. One play can change the whole game, and we just have to be keyed in all of our coverages and all the plays we're running.

It's a scene that we've seen play out countless times now.

Boston won its three games at home and the Cavs proved to be unbeatable in Cleveland.

James scored a huge 46 points - his seventh outing of the play-offs with at least 40 points - as well as clocking up 11 rebounds and nine assists to be the night's standout man. We needed that, especially with Kevin going down. And so too was LeBron James, when he suffered an apparent leg injury after Larry Nance Jr. fell on top of him.

Just before the midway point of the opening period, Love and Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum inadvertently cracked heads.

In the first close game of the series - and the lowest-scoring - James played all 48 minutes and had 12 of his points in the fourth quarter for his sixth straight Game 7 win.

The series is tied at 3-3 and Cleveland must win in Boston on Sunday to progress to the finals.

And he would not be denied an eighth straight trip to the NBA Finals. Multiple games now in TD Garden, held them under 100, three games in the 80s - but he still scored 35.

End of quarter: Celtics 43, Cavs 39: Cavs somehow only down four heading into halftime.

The Celtics actually got off to a good start, unlike one-sided Game 3 and 4 losses in Cleveland. He finished with 35 points on 12-of-24 shooting with 15 rebounds and 9 assists.

James had 25 of the Cavaliers' 54 first half points after knocking down three from deep and shooting 52.9 percent from the field. "I promise", he said, drawing laughs from media members.

"I was proud of the way we fought back", said Boston coach Brad Stevens.

Cavaliers: Shot simply 2 of 17 from 3-point vary within the first half, making three of their first 22 pictures from lengthy vary earlier than James and Inexperienced related on back-to-back makes an attempt halfway by means of the third quarter. Cleveland effectively took away Al Horford and eliminated much of Boston's inside-out dimension on Friday, allowing Terry Rozier (28 points) and Brown (27) some comfortable looks but dominating the glass in a game where Tristan Thompson and Aron Baynes featured minimally for each side.
