White House divided on Yanny Laurel debate

Do you hear "Yanny" or "Laurel"? that is the question now raging on social media and Danny Aronson, CEO of EVEN, the company creating headphones known as "glasses for your ears" has explained the technical reasons for the phenomenon.

In a video posted on Twitter, White House staffers give their vote.

President Trump, along with other members of his administration, jumped in on the "Yanny vs. Laurel" debate on Thursday.

Regarding the Laurel or Yanny question, the "right" answer is Laurel since the clip was taken from a recording of the word "Laurel" from dictionary.com.

There are actual reasons why an individual might hear either word.

Professor Charles Spence, professor of experimental psychology, at Oxford, said he could only hear "laurel" and it could be because of his age.

"Clearly you're getting your information from CNN because that's fake news - all I hear is Yanny", Sanders deadpans.

Conway joked that while the sound she heard was "laurel", she could "deflect and divert to yanny" if needed.
