Porn Star Stormy Daniels Files New Defamation Suit Against President Donald Trump

  • Stephanie Clifford also known as Stormy Daniels speaks to media along with lawyer Michael Avenatti outside federal court in the Manhattan borough of New York City New York U.S

She is seeking damages in excess of $75,000.

Porn star Stormy Daniels is expanding her legal assault on President Donald Trump, filing a new lawsuit over his use of Twitter to undermine her claim that an unidentified man threatened her in a bid to keep her quiet about her "intimate relationship" with Trump about a decade ago. "A total can job, playing the Fake News Media for Fools (but they know it)!" Daniels, whose real name Stephanie Clifford, says she was threatened by a man in a Las Vegas vehicle park to drop her allegations of an affair with Trump, BBC reported on Monday.

Stormy Daniels' attorney has filed that threatened defamation lawsuit against President Donald Trump.

"Ms Clifford has been exposed to death threats and other threats of physical violence, causing her both emotional and economic damages", it said.

"Mr Trump's statement is false and defamatory", it said.

Daniels alleged that a man approached her outside a fitness class she was attending with her infant daughter and delivered the threat, which shook her.

Cohen has been under major legal scrutiny ever since the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided his offices in order to investigate the potential illegalities involved in his hush money payment to Stormy Daniels. "Forget the story, '" Daniels told Anderson Cooper in an interview. She told CBS News' 60 minutes programme that following the end of the relationship, a man approached her and her daughter in a Las Vegas auto park and told her to "forget the story, leave Donald Trump alone". The man then looked at Daniels' young daughter and said, "That's a lovely little girl".

The next day, Trump, who has denied through White House press officials allegations that he had an affair with Daniels, responded to the composite sketch on his Twitter account.

Cohen has admitted paying United States dollars 130,000 to Clifford - a payment the porn star says was made to keep her quiet just days before the November 2016 presidential vote.

Daniels, in her lawsuit, is asking whether the hush agreement was legal, and is looking at whether Trump consented to it, according to the report.

"Mr. Trump made his statement either knowing it was false, had serious doubts about the truth of his statement, or made the statement with reckless disregard for its truth or falsity", the complaint reads.

California judge James Otero has temporarily put a hold on Daniels' lawsuit against Trump and his personal attorney Michael Cohen for 90 days. She contends the agreement is invalid because Trump never personally signed it.
