Cesc Fabregas scored the only goal of the game as Chelsea kept their Champions Leagues hopes afloat with a 1-0 win at relegation-threatened Swansea.

Chelsea are now the 5/4 favourites with 888sport to win the game and blow the top four race wide open while you can get odds of 2/1 on Liverpool taking home the three points and wrapping-up their Champions League place. Swansea's willingness and urgency looked pitiful for a team fighting relegation, and the sides went in at the break with Chelsea in full control.

A home win would move Antonio Conte's men to within just three points and they'd be confident of drawing level with Liverpool by beating Huddersfield in their game in hand at the Bridge on the 9th May. Despite finishing the game strongly, Carlos Carvalhal's men failed to restore any form of parity and the Swans are now without a win in their last six league games.

Southampton could yet have the chance to overtake Swansea when they visit the Liberty on Tuesday, 8 May before Stoke travel across the border on the final day of the season.

Fabregas struck in the fourth minute on a wet evening in south Wales - his 50th Premier League goal and 15th for Chelsea after scoring 35 for former club Arsenal.

Fabregas's victor at Swansea was his first Chelsea goal in 26 games and it was only his third goal of the season after making some sacrifices to his game to be more defensive, with Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater both having struggled to adapt at Stamford Bridge.

Dusan Tadic scored twice to give Southampton its first home win since November, 2-1 over Bournemouth. Today has been very positive to put that pressure on Tottenham. The Blues are two points behind fourth place Spurs, who've played one less than Chelsea.

Swansea claimed for a penalty when Gary Cahill challenged Nathan Dyer, with the Chelsea defender also involved in a clash with Jordan Ayew in injury time after a late barge from the Ghanaian.

"We depended on others to try and get out of this position". If we want to fight for something important you must be clinical.

"We have had to dig in in certain moments and we are ready to do that".

"What we must do is keep the momentum of the performance in the last games, because if we play like that we will achieve the necessary points to stay in the competition", he said.
