Earlier this month, 23 children and four adults were killed when a driver lost control of a school bus, which plunged into a 100-meter deep gorge north of Delhi.

The train involved in the incident when it was on its way from Sivan to Gorakhpur.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath visited the site where thirteen children got killed in a train accident.

"It was unmanned level crossing gate at Behpurva, with Gate Mitra deployed there". The train was on its way to Gorakhpur from Siwan, when the accident occurred in Kushinagar.

A statement from the Railway Ministry said the accident on unmanned level crossing (UMLC) between Tamkuhi Road and Dudahi station was reported at 06:45 AM today i.e. 26.04.2018.


Meanwhile, members of the bar council in Kushinagar criticised the district hospital for referring injured persons to other institutions without even administering first aid.

The small van was carrying 18 children to the Divine Public School when it was hit by the train in Kushinagar. Miffed with the protesters, Adityanath climbed up on the bonnet of his auto and asked the crowd to stop their "nautanki". He also announced an ex-gratia of Rs two lakh each to the families of the deceased.

The Chief Minister ordered to registered an FIR against the principal of the school, who has been detained by the police following an inquiry into the accident. "Kindly let us go through the area and inspect the accident site", he said.

At least 13 children have been killed in India after a train crashed into their school bus, amid reports the bus driver was listening to music through headphones.

The children, aged between five and 14, were on their way to school after the bus had picked them up from several villages.
