A Pennsylvania jury has found Bill Cosby guilty of sexual assault in a trial that could send the comedian to prison for ten years.

Cosby contended that their sexual relations were consensual.

On Thursday, a jury found the 80-year-old actor and comedian guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting Temple University employee Andrea Constand in January 2004. As the Inquisitr reported in February, Cosby's 44-year-old daughter, Ensa Cosby, died from end-stage renal disease after suffering kidney failure for most of her life.

Sentencing was expected within 60 to 90 days, after Cosby submits to a "sexually violent predator assessment". In a weird turn of events, Cosby then stood up and began comically barking like a dog.

The guilty verdict came less than a year after another jury deadlocked on the charges.

"Mob rule is not due process", defense lawyer Kathleen Bliss said, referring to the #MeToo movement.

Trump, whose inauguration and first anniversary as president were met with nationwide women's protests, denies accusations of sexual misconduct and accuses rival Democrats and the media of a smear campaign.

Cosby's new defense team, led by Mesereau, the celebrity attorney who won an acquittal for Michael Jackson on child-molestation charges, launched a highly aggressive attack on Constand, calling her a "con artist" and "pathological liar" who framed Cosby to get rich.

She said the pills made her feel woozy, and when she was jolted awake Cosby was digitally penetrating her vagina, touching her breasts and masturbating himself with her hand.

The primary difference between Cosby's first trial and his second was that at last summer's trial the judge in the case, O'Neill, allowed only one additional accuser to testify and support Constand's account, based on the prosecution's argument that it needed to show a common scheme or pattern to Cosby's alleged assault of Constand.
