NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that Bryant isn't expected to sign prior to the NFL draft, which opens Thursday, per sources informed of the decision.

Dubin makes the assumption that the Cowboys are planning to go for a wide receiver with their top pick as part of a makeover for the corps, similar to last year's youth movement in the defensive backfield.

It looks like former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is willing to bet on himself.

Tim Benz notes that America's Team has had plenty of success drafting receivers in the first round under Jerry Jones and he expects the team to pull the trigger on selecting one early again in 2018. Bryant must be pretty confident that he can land a big contract after the draft, because he apparently turned down a lot of money from the Ravens. In fact, these reports state that the Ravens wanted to ink Dez to a multi-year deal for cap space purposes. Bryant turns 30 in November.

According to USA Today, the Cowboy chose to part ways with Bryant due to his 2017 season and his friction with other teammates. He wants to sign a one-year deal, instead of a multi-year deal, so he can sign another huge contract in 2019. After averaging 13.7 touchdown catches per season from 2012-14, Bryant hasn't even hit the 10-touchdown mark in the three seasons since then.

The Cowboys also didn't re-sign Brice Butler to a deal this offseason, resulting him leaving in free agency and signing a two-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals.
