This will have the coffee chain shutting down all of its 8,000 company-owned stores in the U.S. Employees at these stores will then complete the racial bias training course.

The company announced Tuesday that the manager of the Philadelphia location seen in the video has resigned while an internal investigation continues.

This move will have Starbucks putting 175,000 employees in the US under the new racial bias training. Video shows several police officers talking quietly with two black men seated at a table. Starbucks will involve these experts in monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of the measures we undertake.

"The company's founding values are based on humanity and inclusion", said executive chairman Howard Schultz, who joined Johnson and other senior Starbucks leaders in Philadelphia to meet with community leaders and Starbucks partners.

"Starbucks will be closing more than 8,000 company-owned stores in the United States on May 29", the spokesperson said.

@Starbucks The police were called because these men hadn't ordered anything.

The men were arrested for trespassing last week at a Starbucks in Philadelphia.

Dr. Aswin Subanthore, ENODO Global's director of analysis in South Asia, said on Twitter that Starbucks is "horribly mistaken" if the company thinks it can "use just one day to train its employees on racial bias".

"I had the opportunity to apologize to those two gentlemen for what happened to them - they didn't deserve that", Johnson, who called the Tuesday meeting "very productive" and "positive", told FOX Business' Cheryl Casone on "Mornings with Maria" on Wednesday.

That could set back the company, which booked US$22.4 billion in revenue previous year, a mere US$16.7 million in lost sales, according to Bloomberg calculations. The company said it will develop the training with a group that includes former Attorney General Eric Holder and Sherrilyn Ifill, the president of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.

The stand-alone Starbucks store at 42140 Big Bear Blvd.in Big Bear Lake next to U.S. Bank is a company-owned store.

The manager who called the police is no longer working at the Starbucks store in Philadelphia.
