Rapoport confirmed that the Seahawks did postpone the workout with Kaepernick, but says the team asked for his plan moving forward on how to handle everything and there was not a firm plan. However, the trip was canceled over the last-minute stipulation regarding Kaepernick's protests during the anthem. McNair has said he was referring to team executives and not kneeling players.

It's getting harder and harder for NFL teams to claim not signing Colin Kaepernick is exclusively a football decision.

Seattle Times' Seahawks reporter Bob Condotta also said Seattle spoke with Kaepernick, but added the team hasn't ruled him out as an option and "the hope is he can still be brought in for a visit".

The Seahawks have postponed a workout with Colin Kaepernick after the free agent quarterback declined to stop kneeling in protest during the national anthem next season, reports ESPN. "But it's a situation here where Colin Kaepernick was going to come in there and work out there and now he's not".

This comes at a time in which the Cincinnati Bengals visited with San Francisco 49ers free-agent safety Eric Reid, who also knelt with Kaepernick during the anthem, and wanted assurances from Reid that he would not participate in on-field activism.

Kaepernick hasn't been back on an NFL roster since the end of the 2016-17 season, despite the fact that he has more experience and better statistics than the majority of the backup quarterbacks in the league - and even some starting quarterbacks.

In 69 regular-season games with the 49ers from 2011 through 2016, Kaepernick threw for 12,271 yards with 72 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. Carroll supported Michael Bennett's decision to sit during the anthem last season.

Kaepernick, who began his silent protest during the 2016 season over issues related to social justice for Black people as it relates to police brutality before filing a grievance against the National Football League in October, is scheduled to be deposed in his collusion case on Tuesday.
