  • The massive blaze shot out several windows on the 50 floor

Trump Tower, the mixed residential and business building that sometimes serves as the New York White House when the president is in town, had a fire on its 50th floor today.

The injuries to the firefighters was described as "non-life-threatening" by the FDNY.

President Trump later tweeted that the fire was out and said that firefighters had done a good job. That one was characterized as an electrical fire, and was mostly confined to the building's roof.

Some smoke reached some of floors above the fire, he said, but it was unclear if it had reached Mr. Trump's residence.

NY fire crews graded it a Three-Alarm blaze, meaning a minimum of 33 units and 138 firefighters were sent.

Trump praised the building's construction as a "well built building" and lauded firefighters who managed to put out the blaze on Saturday.

A fire also broke out at the building in January. "The @FDNY and @NYPD are truly some of the most incredible people anywhere!" he posted.

He added: "They were knocking down the fire, they found one occupant".

Brit tourist Jan, 59, from London, was in the Starbucks within Trump Tower with her son when the fire broke out.
