Salman Khan to spend another night in jail on Friday.

"Salman Khan has been sentenced because he's a minority", the foreign minister said while speaking to Hamid Mir, anchor of Geo News programme 'Capital Talk'.

Some reports said that Salman broke down inside the court after hearing the 5-year jail term.

Ghai tweeted: "I am extremely shocked to hear Salman Khan being convicted... but also having full trust in Indian judiciary which has many other doors to appeal for final justice..."

Following his conviction, the Bollywood actor spent a day in the Jodhpur Central Jail.

A penalty of Rs. 10,000 was also levied on him.

Last year, a second court at Jodhpur acquitted Khan at a split up poaching instance, judgment that there wasn't any proof that Khan had killed an endangered gazelle.

On Instagram or Twitter, there has been no post from Preity about visiting Jodhpur but a video of the actress exiting Jodhpur airport and quickly making her way to a waiting auto is being circulated on social media.

Khan was found guilty under Section 51 of the Act while he was in Jodhpur during the shooting of "Hum Saath Saath Hain". His co-stars in the movie, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari, were acquitted. Hope the court sees Salman Khan has helped and saved hundreds of people over the years.

"The prosecution has proved beyond doubt the case of hunting two black bucks against Salman but the case against the other accused does not prove beyond doubt", the trial court judge said in his judgement.

The petition has referred to several cases of the Supreme Court and High Courts, where the courts have not given so severe a punishment in the long case that has been going on for 20 years.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan's bail hearing with respect to the blackbuck poaching case has been adjourned to Saturday by District and Sessions Court Judge Ravindra Kumar Joshi.

Bollywood's worries stem from the fact that most of Salman's films gross more than INR2 billion, making him one of the "most bankable stars" presently active in Bollywood.
