Spider-Man Is Releasing In September Exclusively On PS4

Following the reveal of the release date of Marvel's Spider-Man, Insomniac Games answered a lot of questions from the fans on its own Twitter Account, providing some interesting details about the upcoming game. The only details we have right now are that each chapter will come "with new missions, new villains and characters, and additional suits for Spider-Man".

Then there's the Collector's Edition, a $149.99 collection that features all the Digital Deluxe goodness, plus a Steelbook case, art book, and Spider-Man statue. The pre-order bonuses include three outfits, a Spider Drone Gadget, a Spider-Man PSN Avatar, Theme and 5 extra skill points. The pin will showcase Spider-Man as he appears on the cover of the video game. One thing he pointed out was that the game's map is "several times bigger" than the one for Sunset Overdrive, which was developed by Insomniac as an Xbox One exclusive; one estimate puts it between four and six times the size of the city in that game. You also get a limited edition pin mailed to you with this edition. Stevenson says that it is too awesome and spoilery to show right now, but the image below indicates we'll be getting a full reveal of the statue in the summer. You can expect a story where the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man will be forced to overcome all odds in order to save the day.

As you've probably heard by now, Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4 is swinging your way on September 7th. Intihar also answered assorted trivia, like which cinematic Spider-Man is his favorite between Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire.

Since "Spider-Man" was first announced at E3, gamers have been speculating as to whether or not the game will eventually see a release on other platforms.
