The New York Post reports that Trump was "impressed" with the huge ratings of the show that depicts Barr as the matriarch of a working-class family and also a Trump supporter.

Chicago, which came in at number five, was the only blue state to appear in the top 10 for the show's ratings.

Roseanne Barr running for president again is "never off the table", according to the actress and comedian.

In what she called a "private conversation" between her and longtime friend President Donald Trump, the two chatted about "working and television and ratings".

COS suggests that Trump didn't have time to address a laundry list of things, including his alleged affair with Stormy Daniels, yet he has time to call Roseanne Barr over her sitcom success.

Barr has always been an outspoken and hawkish Israel advocate on social media, sometimes sparking fights, as in November 2015, when she called a writer for the liberal daily Haaretz a "privileged fat skinhead" over his call for French Jews to stay in France.

"We talked about a lot of things and he's just happy for me", she said.

Roseanne, a sitcom about a blue collar family, aired from 1988 to 1997.

He also reportedly thanked Barr, 65, for making her character in the show a passionate Trump supporter.

At a Television Critics Association panel in January, the Emmy victor explained why the ABC series would be politically charged.

ABC News chief George Stephanopoulos noted Trump sure is interested in TV ratings and Barr agreed.

"We're lucky in this country that we can do that".

Barr was a liberal in the past. "He has said it several times, you know, that's he's not homophobic at all".

'I deleted it, so f**k you, ' she told Kimmel while flipping the bird.

She added that she's not an apologist for the president and doesn't agree with all he's said and done. "A lot of us, no matter who we voted for, we don't want to see our president fail". The first half-hour episode started at 8 p.m. and had an average of 17.7 million viewers.
