Assassin's Creed Syndicate will become free for Xbox Live Gold members from April 16 to May 15.

In addition to these two games for the Xbox One, Xbox 360 users will be able to enjoy Dead Space 2 and Cars 2 for their console. April's lineup provides over $129 dollars in value and up to 4000 in gamerscore.

First up on Xbox One is mind-bending puzzler The Witness, from Braid creator Jonathan Blow.

A game that isn't ideal for children is Dead Space 2, another Xbox 360 backwards compatible title which will be freely available to Xbox Live Gold subscribers from April 16 to April 30.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate introduced easier traversal than earlier AC titles, and it received an 8.2 in IGN's review, saying "London makes for the best Assassin's Creed experience in an age". You can check out a full schedule for the new games below.

Cars 2 received a 6.0 in IGN's review. It might be overkill, but I don't want you missing out!

The Witness will be available to download between April 1 and April 30. As survival horror games go, the Dead Space franchise is fondly remembered, though if you've never played it before, it might be worth trying to pick up a copy of the first game on the cheap before you dive into Dead Space 2.

Last month's marquee game Trials of the Blood Dragon is available until March 31, while Superhot is still up for grabs until April 15.
