The snow has been cleared from Martinsville Speedway and NASCAR's postponed Cup Series race is about to begin.

With Clint Bowyer's win Monday at Martinsville, Stewart-Haas Racing has four wins in 2018.

The No. 14 vehicle led 215 of the 500 laps, including nearly the entire third stage, holding on for first place ahead of Kyle Busch. "To have it come at this place meant a lot".

The incident brought out a caution, allowing Bowyer and the rest of the field to pit and fill up enough to make it the rest of the way.

Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, Keselowski and Ryan Blaney round out the top five starters. "It was so cool driving up here and it felt good".

Last week, the seven-time Cup champion was ranked No. 4 on ESPN The Magazine's list of the most dominant athletes of the past 20 years.

Now that Bowyer has that weight lifted from his shoulders, it's time to cheer on a handful of other drivers - including one who has an even longer run of futility going.

Despite the third place finish after leading twice for 145 laps, Blaney said he was happy to get his best finish at a track where he's struggled to just one top 10 finish in four previous appearances.

Bubba Wallace hasn't been to Martinsville in more than three years - and has never driven a Cup vehicle at the track - but the rookie has been looking forward to this race as much as any other.

Clint Bowyer had already waited nearly 2,000 days for this NASCAR victory - what difference would one more day make?

"He (Harvick) just got to me and I think bumped me three or four times", Hamlin told Fox Sports after the race.

The race was green for the final 109 laps.

"I'm reminded every week of a streak that's not one that you want to be reminded of", Johnson said.

"He hit me a couple times and I was just trying to make sure I had my vehicle under control", said Harvick, who finished fifth. In the first stage, it was Denny Hamlin, who led for 111 laps early.

Asked it's better to get beat and be close or get beat badly with no chance, Busch said he preferred the latter. Busch heads into the off-week the championship standings leader by 8 points over Martin Truex Jr.
