Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo Hospital on the night of September 22, 2016 and passed away on December 5, 2016. The next day Jayalalithaa's health was better and she spoke, she said. En route too, the hospital when the ambulance was negotiating a curve Jayalalithaa, who was semi conscious, woke up and asked Sasikala where she was and she was informed that she was on the way to Apollo Hospital.
She claims that Dr KS Sivakumar, a relative of Sasikala, had examined Jayalalithaa twice on the same day. This was before she fainted at her residence on September 22nd, 2016.
Sasikala, in her affidavit, claimed that Jayalalithaa's health was deteriorating because of the severe stress caused to her due to her conviction and imprisonment in the disproportionate assets case in September 2014.
In response to that, the Tamil Nadu government formed the Arumughaswamy Commission to investigate her demise. In the days after MGR's death, when Jayalalithaa unable to withstand the humiliation of being pushed from his cortege was toying with the idea of quitting politics, it was Natarajan and Sasikala who gave her emotional support. Jayalalithaa had fever and looked jaded and despite insistence to visit a doctor, Jayalalithaa refused saying she will be alright if she got some rest, Sasikala wrote in her affidavit. She said that between November 2014 and September 2016 as many as 20 doctors from various private hospitals in Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata treated her. The team also comprised doctors from Apollo Hospitals.
Sasikala says that after the serial had ended, she had turned off the television using a remote. Even details of her food consumption were in it, and it has all been submitted to the Commission.
It says that Rao saw Jayalalithaa through a glass partition, after which she waved at him. However, his political acumen waned with age and the two choices he and Sasikala made - Panneerselvam and Palaniswami both rebelled against the family and have since joined hands to rule Tamil Nadu. She attended her last public event on September 21.
